Out of Hours Service
WestCall is the organisation that provides urgent NHS GP services to all patients in Berkshire West during the times that we are closed.
If you need to speak to a doctor urgently outside opening hours, you should telephone 0118 930 2513 and listen to the recorded message. You will be advised to telephone either the Doctors Answering Service or the NHS 111 out of hours organisation. You will be put in touch with a duty doctor or nurse.
Any routine or non urgent problem which realistically can wait until 8.00 am should be left until after this time.
In the case of urgent need when the practice is closed you can call NHS 111 to speak to a triage nurse. Your needs will be assessed and advice offered or arrangements made for you to see a doctor.
Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
