When requesting a repeat prescription, please allow 3 full working days before collection. Please read any messages on the right hand side of your prescription. From time to time you may need to have a medication review, this will appear on your prescription informing you of when it is due. We are not allowed to continue to give repeat prescriptions indefinitely without a review of your medication, therefore if you haven’t booked an appointment for your review any request for repeat medication may be refused. Please book your review in good time.
How to order your repeat prescription:
· Join Patient Access, our online ordering system. Just bring in photo ID and ask at reception for a username and password.
· Complete the right hand side of your prescription and place in the black box on the wall next to our dispensary.
Please remember: We do not take prescriptions verbally in person or via the telephone, they must always be in writing.
Please note that we cannot accept repeat prescriptions by telephone.

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs). The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines. Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.
If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.
There is further information about prescription exemptions and fees on the NHS website
Our Dispensary is at our main site in Theale.
We are bound by certain rules which means that we cannot dispense medicines to everyone. The rules that we are bound by are that the patient must live more than 1 mile away from a dispensing chemist (pharmacy).
Private patients may have to pay for their drugs as it can come outside of the NHS. Some other drugs may be outside of the NHS even though you may be an NHS patient. This should be explained to you at the time. Please see our price list for drug pricing. Note that drug pricing changes very quickly and is subject to change without notice.
Please allow 48 hours, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays, for your request to be processed. Any problems please telephone the surgery.
